Market notes and resale
The 42 mm version is less popular than the 38 mm, so it trades at a bigger discount used. Suits larger wrists and buyers who want the lower price.

Used buyer checklist
- Confirm the exact reference and dial configuration before paying
- Check the crystal for deep scratches — field watches take knocks
- Compare the asking price against the 560-750 used band on this page
- Confirm whether the movement is hand-wound or automatic as advertised
- Verify lug width and whether the original strap or bracelet is included
Known issues and pricing traps
- Mineral and acrylic crystals mark easily and are a common bargaining point
- Military-style references attract replica and franken builds
- Expect normal depreciation, not a windfall

How this price range is set
Editorial estimate for the US market, not a live quote. Bands reflect typical retail and second-hand pricing for this reference and are revised when sold-listing evidence arrives.
Ranges are reduced for condition, missing links, no box or papers, unknown service history and poor photos, and adjusted when current new-watch discounts make a used price unattractive.
FAQ
What price should I target for the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 42mm?
Use $620 as the good-buy target. The fair used range is $560-750, and a used listing above $920 needs unusually strong condition, completeness, warranty or scarcity.
Should I buy the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 42mm new or used?
Compare the used asking price with the current new online band of $760-900. If the saving is small, buying new can be safer because you get warranty and cleaner return rights.
What changes the value most?
Condition, box and papers, bracelet or strap completeness, service history, seller reputation, warranty status and unusually poor listing photos move the real transaction price.
What should I check before buying used?
Check the exact reference, case and bracelet condition, movement/module function, service or battery history, seller feedback and whether the price still makes sense after tax, shipping and return risk.
